Medical Cylinder Generous Donation

NBC Los Angeles (Published Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017): “A birthday trip to Disneyland for a girl with cerebral palsy is now in jeopardy because someone stole the family van carrying oxygen tanks and other important equipment in Wilmington, the family said Wednesday.   The girl’s family was pleading with the public for the equipment to be returned after it was taken from right in front of the family’s Los Angeles home. Cristina Shaw depends on her oxygen tanks, suctioning equipment, wheelchair and special car seat — all of which were stolen along with the van…   If you would like to donate to the GoFundMe account set up to help Cristina’s family, you may do so here: https://www.gofundme.com/3acrqns (Note that GoFundMe deducts 7.9 percent of all funds raised in the form of platform and payment processing charges). New Catalina SCUBA Cylinders to Showcase the Undersea World of Wyland

A portion of proceeds from each tank to benefit Wyland Foundation efforts for clean water and healthy oceans SANTA ANA, Calif. — Internationally renowned artist and conservationist Wyland, Catalina Cylinders, and Sherwood SCUBA today announced a new partnership to develop a series of limited edition Wyland designed air cylinders for SCUBA Divers. The new venture, entitled “Catalina by Wyland,” will showcase Wyland’s acclaimed scenes of marine life art, abstracts and Chinese brush art on aluminum cylinders using Catalina’s state of the art Duragrafix printing process for unprecedented look and durability. The tanks will be distributed to dive shops and retailers around the world. “Wyland has always been one of the most recognizable artists in the world of marine life art,” said Rick Hill, Vice President of Catalina Cylinders. “But he’s also been a tireless advocate for promoting the future sustainability of our oceans through his non-profit foundation. This is a beautiful way to celebrate the art of SCUBA Diving and increase awareness of the role divers have in promoting ocean health.” The new tanks are expected to be released in late winter / early spring and retail for approximately $250. As part of the launch announcement, Wyland will hand paint a Catalina Cylinder on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the 2016 DEMA Show in the Sherwood SCUBA booth and the SCUBA tank will be sold in a worldwide auction to raise funds for Wyland Foundation clean water and ocean education programs. About Wyland: For more than four decades renowned marine life artist Wyland has captivated the world with his spectacular paintings, photography, and landmark Whaling Wall murals. He is a member of the SCUBA Diving Hall of Fame and can be seen every week on “Wyland’s Art Studio” a nationally televised art instruction series for American Public Television. With half a million collectors around the world and the ongoing efforts of his non-profit foundation in support of global water and ocean conservation, he has done more than any other artist to raise awareness of the beauty of life on our blue planet. Jun 18, 2015

It is with great sadness that we must share heartbreaking news of the death of our colleague and friend, Jeff Cunningham. Jeff died on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Jeff started his career with Catalina Cylinders in 1992 as the Sales Manager of the Garden Grove, CA facility. In 1995, Jeff was promoted to General Manager of the Catalina Cylinders’ newly acquired Cliff Impact Division, which was located in Cleveland, Ohio at the time. In 1998, Jeff successfully relocated the facilities of Cliff Impact Division from Cleveland, Ohio and Truman, Arkansas, combining two facilities into one in Hampton, Virginia. In 2007, Jeff was again promoted to Vice President and General Manager, in charge of both, the Catalina Cylinders and Cliff Impact Division locations. In 2014, Jeff announced his planned retirement which commenced at the end of the year. Everyone who’d ever had the privilege of working with Jeff always found him a special pleasure to work with.
